The
Shaker and country furniture hand crafted in my workshop feature simple
beauty and quality joinery.
Most of the Shaker furniture has been inspired by Shaker furniture from the
past and in many cases look like the original piece. The country furniture
takes the Shaker-style and combines it with the look you might find in an
old farmhouse or New England cottage. When I design a piece of furniture I
try to combine the look of the past with the needs of today’s home.
A variety of finishes are used on the furniture. In addition to stain and
Danish oil I use milk paint in a variety of colors. Milk paint gives that
authentic look of Colonial or Shaker furniture.
Tin
inserts are featured on some of the cabinets including the pie safes. This
gives the cabinet an old fashioned look.
Furniture isn’t the only thing built in the workshop. I build many items for
the home landscape including benches, swings, planters, sheds, greenhouses
and more.
In addition to items built in my workshop I have a large selection of
hardware, finishing products, books, plans and tools available from Rockler
Hardware and amazon.com.
